On September 29, the South China Morning Post reported that BYD (比亚迪) expects exports to make up about 20% of its global sales this year, supported by the launch of new models. Li Yunfei (李云飞), General Manager of BYD’s Brand and Public Relations Division, said the company projects overseas deliveries of between 800,000 and 1 million units in 2025, a notable increase relative to its revised global sales target of 4.6 million vehicles. Earlier, Reuters reported that BYD had cut its 2025 sales target by as much as 16% to 4.6 million vehicles, signaling that its record-breaking expansion may slow after its weakest growth in five years. Li noted that overseas markets will contribute more going forward, with BYD’s self-owned roll-on/roll-off shipping fleet providing strong support for exports.
