The Dutch government announced Wednesday that it is returning control of local chip manufacturer Nexperia (安世半导体) to its Chinese parent, Wingtech Technology (闻泰科技). This move, which follows the government's temporary seizure on September 30th, aims to ease US-China supply chain tensions and "demonstrate goodwill," according to Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs Vincent Karremans. Nexperia specializes in mature chips, and the previous supply uncertainty had concerned global automakers like Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and Nissan.
