Financial Associated Press, November 18 - State Councilor and foreign minister Wang Yi had a telephone conversation with Japan's new foreign minister Lin Fang. Wang Yi said that the two sides should strive to achieve a higher level of complementary advantages, mutual benefit and win-win results, jointly maintain a stable, fair and open trade and investment environment in the global industrial chain and supply chain, and boost the high-quality development and improvement of people's livelihood of the two countries. The two sides should give full play to the unique advantages of close geographical and cultural ties, and take the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the "China Japan cultural exchange and sports promotion year" this year and next year as an opportunity to create a positive public opinion and social atmosphere. As important countries in the region, China and Japan should be aware of their international responsibilities, jointly practice real multilateralism and resist any attempt to engage in separatist confrontation or even the new cold war. In January next year, the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement will officially enter into force, and China and Japan will reach a bilateral tariff concession arrangement for the first time. The two sides should work together to lead and promote the process of regional cooperation and integration in Asia.
