Astribot (星尘智能), a Shenzhen-based developer of cable-driven AI robots, has completed a CNY 1 billion financing round at a reported valuation of CNY 15 billion, according to reports published on October 13. The company plans to use the proceeds for model development, recruitment, production capacity and commercialization, following the start of shipments of its lower-priced T1 robot in June.

The round was led by Toposcend Capital (投控东海), an investment platform affiliated with Shenzhen Investment Holdings (深投控). Participants included Hongtai Fund (洪泰基金), the Ninghai Xingtaihe Fund managed by Guanghua Sunshine (光华阳光), Shanheng Capital (善恒资本) and existing investor Xianmu (先沐). Founder and CEO Lai Jie (来杰) said the financing supports the company’s integrated approach to AI models, an embodied operating system and cable-driven hardware.

Astribot has announced four financing rounds since March 2026. In June, it reported that three consecutive rounds over three months had raised more than CNY 1 billion in aggregate, taking its valuation above CNY 10 billion. The latest financing provides additional resources to expand production and applications, although the reports did not disclose shipment volumes or revenue alongside the new valuation.

Founded in 2022, Astribot focuses on robots that manipulate objects using two arms, with cable-driven mechanisms transmitting force through tendon-like structures. The company says its S flagship series secured orders at the thousand-unit scale from September 2025. Its T1 began shipping in June 2026, bringing its entry pricing to approximately CNY 90,000.

Reported applications span retail, tourism, industry, research and education. China Fund News identified customers including JD.com, ThunderSoft and CCTV, and reported deployments of Astribot’s robot-operated retail format in six Chinese cities. These applications provide evidence of commercial activity, while order commitments and deployment announcements remain distinct from completed deliveries and recurring earnings.

For international buyers, the lower entry price could make Astribot’s platforms accessible to more research teams and commercial operators. The financing also supports its stated ambition to expand globally. Establishing an overseas business will depend on reliable task performance, integration costs, maintenance and local support. The next measure of progress will be repeat purchases and sustained deployments as production expands.
