XPeng (小鹏汽车) launched its G9L flagship SUV in Europe at the Paris Motor Show on October 12, opening orders with French prices starting at €74,990. The launch expands the Chinese automaker’s premium lineup as it develops European manufacturing, engineering and technology partnerships.
The all-electric European G9L offers six- and seven-seat configurations. XPeng’s French configurator lists the entry version as a seven-seat, rear-wheel-drive model with a 110 kWh battery and a stated WLTP range of 591 kilometers. Pricing varies by market: the German launch starts at €74,600, with initial customer deliveries planned for December 2026.
The model completed its first production trial at Magna’s facility in Graz, Austria, ahead of the show. It is set to become the fourth XPeng model manufactured there, following the G6, G9 and P7+. XPeng’s broader production partnership with Magna began in the third quarter of 2025; that date does not mark the start of G9L production. XPeng says the SUV underwent three years of testing across 26 countries and regions, covering more than 6.74 million kilometers.
The Paris program also includes public demonstration rides of XPeng’s Next Generation Pilot (NGP), powered by its VLA 2.0 system, in the show’s Autonomous Lab. XPeng says it and Tesla are the two participating automakers. These rides demonstrate driver-assistance technology in European traffic conditions. They do not establish customer availability: the French G9L configurator still lists NGP as awaiting regulatory clearance.
Separately, XPeng announced on October 9 that it would serve as the OICA Secretary of the UNECE Task Force on Exchange of Scenario-Relevant Information. Co-chaired by France and China, the task force supports exchanges among regulators, approval authorities, technical experts and industry representatives. XPeng’s role covers coordination and administration alongside a secretary representing SAE International.
For XPeng, the launch brings product expansion, local manufacturing and regulatory engagement into the same European strategy. The €74,990 French starting price places the G9L firmly in the premium market, where the commercial test extends beyond specifications to service, delivery reliability and brand trust. Local production and engineering provide a foundation for that effort; sustained sales and approved software deployment will determine its results.
