D-Robotics(地瓜机器人), the robotics computing company incubated by Horizon Robotics(地平线), announced a US$400 million Series C financing on September 17. Led by South Korea’s Mirae Asset(未来资产), with strategic participation from Meituan(美团), the round will support expansion of its computing chips and software tools for robot developers.

Participants included Hefei and Nanshan government-backed investment platforms, Cathay Capital(凯辉基金)and GF Xinde(广发信德). Existing investors including GL Ventures(高瓴创投), 5Y Capital(五源资本), Linear Capital(线性资本), Vertex Growth and Prosperity7 also participated. Following US$270 million raised through two Series B rounds earlier this year, the latest financing brings D-Robotics’ disclosed 2026 fundraising to US$670 million and its total announced funding to US$770 million.
The company said cumulative shipments of its Sunrise(旭日)chip family exceeded 8 million units in the first half of 2026, while revenue grew several-fold year on year. The shipment figure covers the entire series across applications; it does not represent shipments of its flagship S600 alone or the number of humanoid robots deployed.
Launched in November 2025, the Sunrise S600 has attracted more than 20 embodied-AI customers, including UBTECH(优必选), TARS(它石智航), Spirit AI(千寻智能)and X Square Robot(自变量机器人), according to D-Robotics. The company said most associated projects had reached mass-production shipments. Its S600 development platform combines AI processing with general-purpose computing and real-time control, supporting perception, planning and movement within a single system.
The new capital will fund a broader chip portfolio and software spanning data collection, model training, simulation and deployment. D-Robotics also reports a community of more than 100,000 developers across over 20 countries, providing a potential route for its tools to enter products developed outside China.
The investment supports a business model built around supplying multiple robot makers. Reusable computing hardware and software can help customers reduce development work, while adoption across different robot categories can spread the supplier’s engineering costs.
For international expansion, foreign investors and developer participation provide useful connections, but neither establishes overseas sales at scale. The stronger commercial test is whether foreign manufacturers move from evaluating development kits to incorporating the platform into production designs. Software compatibility, dependable supply and technical support will help determine whether D-Robotics’ growing installed base becomes a durable international business.
