AGIBOT (智元机器人), a Shanghai-based embodied AI robotics company, launched its European partner platform at a conference in London on June 30, marking a further step in the company’s expansion into the European market.

At the event, AGIBOT introduced a software platform designed for its regional partners and promoted a localized Robot-as-a-Service, or RaaS, model. The company has established sales partnerships covering the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Nordic countries.

Under the RaaS model, customers can access robots and related services through subscriptions rather than purchasing the hardware outright. AGIBOT said the model combines its robotic products and embodied AI technologies with local partners’ capabilities in logistics, technical support, maintenance and customer delivery.

The approach is intended to reduce the upfront costs associated with adopting humanoid and general-purpose robots. It could make robotic automation more accessible to manufacturers, logistics operators and service-sector businesses that remain cautious about committing substantial capital to relatively new technologies.

AGIBOT develops humanoid and general-purpose robots alongside the software and embodied intelligence systems that support them. Its product portfolio covers industrial manufacturing, logistics, commercial services and data-collection applications.

Europe has become an important target market for robotics companies due to high labor costs, workforce shortages and growing demand for automation. However, entering the region requires more than exporting hardware. Robotics suppliers must also provide local deployment, maintenance, training and after-sales services while meeting European workplace safety and regulatory requirements.

The partner platform reflects a broader change in the globalization strategies of Chinese robotics companies. Instead of relying solely on one-off hardware sales, companies are increasingly building local distribution networks and service systems to support long-term deployment.

For AGIBOT, combining regional partnerships with a subscription-based model could help shorten customer adoption cycles and generate more stable recurring revenue. The European expansion will also test whether Chinese embodied AI companies can translate their technological and manufacturing capabilities into sustainable overseas operations.
