Premier Li Qiang Holds Talks with Indonesian President Prabowo

On the morning of May 25th local time, Chinese Premier Li Qiang held talks with Indonesian President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

During the meeting, Premier Li first conveyed President Xi Jinping’s warm greetings to President Prabowo and expressed that since President Prabowo’s visit to China last November, the two countries have reached important consensus on building a China-Indonesia community of shared future with regional and global significance. He emphasized the need to strengthen solidarity and cooperation in the future to jointly address crises and challenges.

Premier Li also noted that China is willing to enhance strategic cooperation with Indonesia, focusing on key areas such as the Belt and Road Initiative, market connectivity, industrial collaboration, and improving trade and investment facilitation. He also highlighted the expansion of cooperation in sectors such as finance, new energy, digital economy, artificial intelligence, aerospace, maritime, culture, and people’s livelihoods.

President Prabowo asked Premier Li to convey his warm greetings and best wishes to President Xi Jinping. He expressed Indonesia’s anticipation of strengthening communication and cooperation with China in multilateral platforms such as ASEAN and BRICS, and reaffirmed Indonesia’s firm support for multilateralism, opposition to protectionism, and commitment to jointly addressing global crises with China.

After the talks, both sides witnessed the signing of cooperation documents in areas such as economic development policies, supply chains, and finance.

Additionally, at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is the ASEAN chair, Premier Li will attend the ASEAN-China-GCC Summit in Kuala Lumpur from May 26 to 28.
