SAIC Volkswagen does not end

Recently, it is reported that SAIC Motor’s two major independent brands, MG and Zhiji, will showcase 10 electric and intelligent new cars at the 2024 Geneva Auto Show on the 26th with, including IM L6 and MG3 HEV.

Founded in 1924, the Geneva Motor Show, known as the "international automobile thermometer", is the most important exhibition platform for major automakers to launch new products, and a significant stage for the international famous automobile manufacturers producing luxury cars. From 2020 to 2022, after three years of suspension, the 2023 Geneva Motor Show was held in Doha, Qatar. This year, however, the 2024 Geneva Auto Show is making a huge comeback. Despite that some of the world’s well-known car companies have not planned to participate, for Chinese brands that have become increasingly active in the global market, this exhibition is an opportunity that cannot be missed.

Europe is the birthplace of the world's automobiles and SAIC's largest overseas regional market. In 2023, SAIC Motor sold overall 1.208 million vehicles overseas, a year-on-year increase of 18.8%, and a total of 330,000 vehicles in the European market, surpassing all the other Chinese car makers for 8 consecutive years and making itself a true “model” for going global. MG, a subsidiary of SAIC Motor, has been the champion of China's single brand exports for 5 years in a row, selling a total of 840,000 vehicles worldwide, more than 50% of which are achieved in developed countries. Its first global car, the MG4 EV, sold 100,000 units. Meanwhile, the corporation is vigorously cultivating the high-end electric intelligent brand IM, which is expected to deliver another breakthrough in sales abroad. In 2024, SAIC's overseas sales are expected to reach 1.35 million vehicles, another record high.

At this year's Geneva Auto Show, the IM L6 will make its global debut for the first time, with zero to 100 km/h acceleration within 2 seconds and CLTC's maximum range exceeding 1000 kilometers. MG, at the meantime, will launch the MG3 HEV, a new star after the MG4 EV, which adopts the new Hybrid Plus technology and combines multiple advantages. It is expected that debuts at motor show will further boost SAIC's international popularity and lift its brand profile.

In today’s global landscape, more and more Chinese companies are emerging on the international stage, which not only projects their competitiveness but stimulates the development of global automotive industry as well.
