Chip Design Company CMind Completes Pre-A+ Round Financing, 5G Chip Tape out in Q3

Domestic mobile communication chip market is huge, 5G IOT and telematics market is still in the blue ocean, and the market compound annual growth rate is at the forefront of the semiconductor industry.


CMind-SEMI(Chinese: 芯迈微), founded in 2021, announces the completion of a pre-A+ round of financing led by CCV cap(Chinese: 创世伙伴CCV), with further additional investment from both long-term shareholders Walden International(Chinese: 华登国际) and Legend Capital(Chinese: 君联资本). Over the past year, CMind has completed three consecutive rounds of funding in the hundreds of millions. Following the completion of this round, the institutional shareholder line-up includes: Walden International, Xingrui Capital(Chinese: 星睿资本), Legend Capital, Junke Danmu(Chinese: 君科丹木), Huashan Capital(Chinese: 华山资本) and CCV cap. The funds raised in this round will mainly be used for the company's 4G chip productization and 5G chip product development.

CMind focuses on providing 4G and 5G advanced wireless communication chips and complete solutions, and is committed to becoming the new global leader in smartphone communication chips. The company's product plan covers the Internet of Things (IoT), Internet of Vehicles (IoV: Modem/T-BOX/C-V2X) and smartphone markets, promoting the digitalisation and intelligent transformation and upgrading of society, and helping to build an intelligent, safe and efficient smart travel and connected society.

According to Machina Research statistics, the number of global IoT device connections grew rapidly from 2010 to 2018, from 2 billion in 2010 to 9.1 billion in 2018, with a compound growth rate of 20.9%, and the number of global IoT devices (including cellular and non-cellular) connected is expected to reach 25.1 billion in 2025, becoming an important direction for the future development of global networks.
