According to the Wall Street Journal, U.S. auto safety regulators have launched a special investigation into a fatal accident involving Tesla vehicles, which has killed three people. The National Highway Traffic Safety Commission disclosed the investigation on Wednesday and confirmed that the accident vehicle was Tesla Model s produced in 2022. The agency added the accident to the list of car accidents it is investigating that may be related to semi-automatic driving function. The regulator has disclosed that it is investigating more than 30 serious accidents involving Tesla cars suspected of using autopilot. NHTSA records show that some other Tesla car crashes on the list also led to deaths.
