It is learned from the University of science and technology of China that Professor Zeng Jie's research team has developed a copper iron carbide interface catalyst to realize the high selectivity of carbon dioxide hydrogenation to prepare long-chain olefins under atmospheric pressure. Relevant achievements were published in the international academic journal Nature · communication. Long chain olefins are widely used in fine chemical industry. At present, the common method of industrial synthesis of long-chain olefins is oligomerization based on ethylene, which mainly comes from petroleum resources. In contrast, using renewable energy to produce hydrogen by electrolyzing water and then directly preparing long-chain olefins by reacting with carbon dioxide will produce huge environmental benefits.
