EnPower, a solid-state lithium battery developer, recently announced the completion of a USD 20 million Series A+ round of funding.

Sequoia Capital and Dayone Capital led this round of funding, which was followed by GAC Capital, Broad Resources Investment, Tianqi Capital, and Nullmax. The funds will primarily be used for product iteration, market expansion, and the construction of a production line.

Enpower is a company that focuses on the R&D, and applications of next-generation batteries such as lithium metal and solid-state batteries, as well as the core materials used in these batteries. It has R&D and manufacturing facilities in China, the United States, and Japan.

Enpower has a global team of 15 doctors and dozens of masters from China, the United States, and Japan, as well as extensive research and development and industrial experience in the battery. With their vast experience in material technologies and differentiated technology roadmap, Enpower solves lithium battery's safety problem while improving the energy density and strives to build an independent researched and developed solid-state battery.

Enpower, according to reports, has made technological advances in lithium metal anode protection, anode material modification, synthesis of sulfide solid electrolyte material, film-forming technology, and solid-state electrolyte materials, that will be commercialized soon.

Enpower currently produces 1.2Ah/3.6Ah/10Ah cylindrical lithium metal batteries with energy densities ranging from 520 Wh/kg to 1100 Wh/L. Its prototype of sulfide-based solid-state battery can withstand more than 1,000 charge-discharge cycles (Capacity Retention Ratio >80%).
