Continental Corporation backed Motovis for an undisclosed amount of money and they teamed up to develop intelligent vehicles and promote ADAS.

Continental Corporation(Chinese:大陆集团), a German supplier of tires, braking systems and other key car parts, announced a deal to invest in Chinese self-driving technology company Motovis (Chinese:魔视智能) and became a shareholder on June 13.

According to the agreement, the German giant will cooperate with the Chinese startup, which specializes in original full stack algorithms,. They will join hands to develop intelligent vehicles and promote the mass production of advanced driving assistance system (ADAS).

Continental Corporation and Motovis are poised to develop and promote smart mobility solutions that are cost-efficient and tailored to  the road conditions in China. Their new system will cover all kinds of passenger cars from low-cost to advanced models, and will be compatible with  platforms equipped with mainstream computing power chips.

The system will also enable differentiated functions such as  higher levels of autonomous driving. The system is expected to realize mass production on Chinese passenger cars produced by major OEMs in 2023, to better serve the local customers and market as a scalable systematic solution.

Motovis is an innovative technology company that develops advanced AI embedded on automotive chips to provide autonomous driving products and solutions. Motovis has deployed full-stack autonomous driving software and hardware systems, including parking + cruising, in-cabin + out-cabin, forward-camera + surround-camera, and standardized + customized. Motovis optimizes AI algorithms to run them efficiently on various core semiconductor platforms.
