On September 30, DiDi (滴滴) announced that its overseas ride-hailing service has launched in Australia, New Zealand and Egypt, extending its presence to Oceania and Africa. The platform now covers 12 countries—including Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand and the Philippines—and serves more than 1,000 cities. DiDi reported that Sydney, Melbourne, Cairo and Auckland are among the busiest hubs. In seven Southeast Asian countries, the company has also added a “send photo” feature, allowing passengers to upload location images to help drivers find them more easily.
