Microsoft shareholders passed a non binding resolution at their annual general meeting on Tuesday, calling on Microsoft to reassess its way of dealing with sexual harassment. It was previously reported that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates had misbehaved against female employees several years ago. Shareholders asked Microsoft to submit a report on the effectiveness of its sexual harassment policy. The proposal was put forward by Arjuna capital, a rights investor and investment company, and was opposed by Microsoft. Another proposal called on Microsoft to disclose the median salary gap across race and gender, which was not passed.
