On December 1, local time, Debenhams, a British retail giant with a history of more than 230 years, announced that it had to close down because it had not been able to find a buyer after filing for bankruptcy protection. A day earlier, another well-known British retailer, Arcadia group, also announced the start of bankruptcy liquidation proceedings.
